Fly an iconic Italian military jet trainer over the heartland of Emilia-Romagna — from €3,950
Italian Military Aviation Heritage
The Aermacchi MB-326 is one of the most successful jet trainers in aviation history. Designed and built in Italy, this single-engine military aircraft served with more than twelve air forces across the globe, from the Italian Aeronautica Militare to the air arms of Australia, South Africa, and Brazil. Now, you have the rare opportunity to occupy the rear cockpit of this storied aircraft and experience military jet flight firsthand — no pilot license required. From takeoff at Reggio Emilia, you will climb rapidly over the agricultural heartland of the Po Valley before turning south toward the dramatic ridgeline of the Apennine Mountains.
Reggio Emilia sits at the geographic crossroads of northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, a landscape defined by sweeping plains, historic cities, and the foothills of the Apennines rising to the south. Your flight path takes you over a terrain rich in both natural beauty and cultural significance — the same skies where Italian military aviators have trained for decades. Whether you are a seasoned aviation enthusiast or stepping into a jet cockpit for the very first time, the MB-326 delivers an authentic, visceral experience of military flight that few civilian programs anywhere in the world can match.
The Experience
Your experienced military-trained pilot will guide you through a carefully structured sortie that balances exhilaration with safety. Depending on weather conditions and your comfort level, the flight may include:

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. There is no upper age limit provided all health criteria are met. A valid government-issued photo ID or passport is required on the day of the flight.
You must be in reasonable general health. Conditions such as serious heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, epilepsy, or recent surgery may preclude participation. If you have any medical concerns, consult your physician prior to booking.

What's Included
Your experience begins with a comprehensive ground briefing from your pilot. You will learn about the MB-326's systems, cockpit instruments, safety procedures, ejection seat protocol, and the flight profile planned for the day. This typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
All required flight equipment is provided, including a flight suit, helmet with integrated communications headset, and anti-G suit. You will be fully connected to the aircraft intercom system and able to communicate with your pilot throughout the sortie.
The core experience: your actual time in the air aboard the Aermacchi MB-326. From the moment the Rolls-Royce Viper engine ignites to the final touchdown, you will experience the full spectrum of military jet flight over the stunning Emilia-Romagna landscape.
After landing, your pilot will walk you through the flight with a detailed debrief. You will receive a certificate of completion documenting your fighter jet flight. Photo and video packages may be available as optional add-ons.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Aermacchi MB-326 is an Italian-designed single-engine jet trainer that first flew in 1957. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet, it became one of the most widely exported military training aircraft of the Cold War era. More than 760 units were produced, and the type served with the air forces of Italy, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Tunisia, and many other nations. Its tandem cockpit configuration makes it ideally suited for passenger flight experiences, with the rear seat offering excellent forward visibility and full instrument displays.
The flight departs from an airfield near Reggio Emilia in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. The flight area extends over the broad agricultural plains of the Po Valley to the north and toward the Apennine mountain ridge to the south. On clear days, visibility can extend to the distant peaks of the Alps. The airfield is easily accessible from Bologna, Parma, and Modena, and is approximately two hours by road from Milan.
Flights operate year-round, weather permitting. The most reliable flying conditions in the Emilia-Romagna region are typically from April through October, when skies tend to be clearer and visibility is at its best. Autumn and winter flights are also possible and can offer particularly dramatic lighting and atmospheric conditions. If weather forces a cancellation on your scheduled date, you will be offered a rescheduled slot at no additional cost.
Arrive well-rested and properly hydrated. Avoid heavy meals and alcohol for at least 12 hours prior to the flight. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes — you will change into a flight suit at the airfield. Bring sunglasses for the pre-flight walkaround. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider taking an over-the-counter remedy beforehand, though the pressurized cockpit and smooth flight characteristics of the MB-326 make nausea uncommon.
